Assembly instructions

Assembly instructions

We recommend that before you begin the assembly of your new Snêk kitchen, you read through this guide and watch our step-by-step assembly instruction videos.

We recommend having your 3D design available in the design tool during installation. This will make it easier to visualize how everything should be assembled and ensure that each component is placed correctly, while also allowing you to follow the exact measurements and placements according to the planned design.

The tools you may need to assemble your kitchen may vary depending on the cabinets you have chosen.

The tools that may be needed are; screwdriver, drill, clamp, tape measurer, pencils, level, angle hook and possibly a saw.

We strongly advise being two people when assembling the cabinets as there are risks of hurting yourself. Note that there is a possibility that the cabinets may break if they are not held straight while the parts are being put together.

PAY ATTENTION! Since there are several varieties of wall materials (such as; brick, wood and concrete), our kitchens are delivered without screws for the wall mounting bracket which you will have to provide for yourselves from hardware stores where you may attain help choosing the right screws for your walls.

Our kitchens are delivered without pre-prepared installations for electricity and water, precisely so that the installation can be customized exactly to your specific needs. This gives you the flexibility to place outlets and piping where they fit best in your kitchen.

All parts of your new unassembled kitchen must be stored indoors at a regular room temperature as well as humidity at all times. You may additionally read our terms and conditions and our documentation on tolerances, which you can find on our website.

If you have ordered your kitchen with mounted doors and drawers, these may need to be adjusted on-site after delivery, meant to ensure that any shifts during transportation are covered. Drawers and hinges may also need to be adjusted after some time of use to maintain optimal functionality and appearance.

Take care of your new kitchen

Painting a Snêk kitchen

Painting your Snêk kitchen can be both fun and satisfying, but keep in mind that you need plenty of space to make the painting process go smoothly. Be sure to protect the surfaces you don’t want to get paint on.

We recommend choosing a paint with at least a semi-gloss finish, as it makes the surface more resistant to grease and dirt, and easier to clean. Matte surfaces in the kitchen tend to show and hold onto grease stains more easily.

We suggest painting both the inside and outside of the doors and drawer fronts. It’s best to paint all visible parts before assembly. If you are painting the cabinets, any knots in the wood should be treated twice with shellac/knotting solution for the best results.

The painting process may vary depending on whether you choose water-based paint or linseed oil paint.

We recommend contacting your paint supplier for specific advice and recommendations regarding the paint you are using.

Painting Process

1. Priming

Start by applying a primer and allow the paint to dry completely.

Lightly sand all surfaces with fine sandpaper, being careful not to create unnecessary scratches in the primer. Wipe the surfaces clean with a microfiber cloth or a damp rag to remove all dust.

2. First Coat

Apply a coat of topcoat paint and let it dry thoroughly.

3. Final Coat

Apply a final coat of topcoat paint and make sure to let it dry properly. The drying process may take several days before the paint is fully cured. Afterward, the fronts panels can be mounted onto the cabinets.

Please note that any technical advice we provide, whether in this description or otherwise, orally or in writing, is given in good faith and with the best of intentions. However, we cannot offer any guarantees, as the painting technique and choice of paint are beyond our control.

Storage

The cabinet with Pelly pull-out system is assembled according to the same principle as “CABINETS”.

Open the drawer with the Pelly pull-out system and read the installation instructions.

Install the supplied drawer runners on the right and left sides of the cabinet. Only one hole is pre-drilled in the cabinet for the system screw; the other two holes must be drilled during installation. Use a 4.5 mm drill bit. A routed line in the cabinet side is provided to assist with horizontal drilling.

Install the Pelly guide block into the pre-drilled holes in the bottom panel.

Assemble the side panels to the bottom panel using 4 wood screws, 4.0 × 35 mm.

Attach two (or four, if space allows) plinth legs using 4.0 × 40 mm wood screws. For inset plinths with a lip, the plinth legs must be positioned 90 mm from the front edge (measured without the frame).

Install the back panel, ensuring that it is pressed fully down into the groove in the bottom panel.

Install the top rails at the back and front edges. Use 4.0 × 35 mm wood screws (4 screws per rail).

Fasten the frame clips using 3.5 × 15 mm pan head screws (1 screw per frame clip).

Note: New drill template – read “DRILL TEMPLATE” before installation.

Install the wall rail onto the wall. Use wood screws of a suitable length depending on the wall material (screws not included).

Attach the mounting rail to the back of the cabinet using 4.5 × 25 mm wood screws (2 pcs).

Attach the frames to the cabinet.

Assemble the Pelly pull-out system with the shelves at the desired height according to the manufacturer’s installation instructions.

Fasten the mounting brackets into the pre-drilled holes on the back of the front panel and attach the Pelly pull-out system.

Install the pull-out unit into the cabinet and fine-adjust the front position according to the adjustment instructions provided by the manufacturer.

Door with frame

The door frame is delivered pre-assembled, including door(s) and threshold.

Begin by removing the door(s), then position the frame in the opening. The bottom edge of the frame/threshold must be level with the floor.

Use wedges around the frame to hold it in place and adjust its position. Check with a spirit level to ensure the frame is plumb. Measure the diagonals of the opening and make sure they are equal. Fine-adjust the frame position by gently tapping it with a rubber mallet or a hammer with a wooden block in between.

Secure the frame. If fastening into wooden studs, it is recommended to use frame screws (not included), as they are easy to adjust. Drill holes for the frame screws in suitable positions using a 14 mm drill bit.

If the wall is made of concrete, lightweight concrete, or brick, you must drill and use wall plugs.

Check with a spirit level to ensure everything is level and adjust using the screws if necessary.

Reinstall the door(s). Test by opening and closing them, ensuring that the gap between the door and the frame is approximately even all around. Fine-adjust the door(s) using the hinge adjustments.
