In a house from 1689, this kitchen has taken shape – carefully adapted to the house’s history and character. When the house was renovated, it was important for the customer that the kitchen would feel as period-appropriate as the rest of the home.
“It would simply have felt terrible to put an IKEA kitchen into the old setting,” the customer says. The choice therefore fell on a solid wood kitchen, where the material and the craftsmanship are allowed to take their place and become a natural part of the house’s character.
The kitchen is built in solid pine and painted in the colour S 3005-G80Y with linseed oil paint – a choice that enhances the soft, timeless feel of the room. The result is a kitchen that both harmonises with the history of the house and is built to last.
What the customer appreciates most is the material and the weight of the kitchen.
“It feels solid and like it will be able to stand here for generations.”
Joinery in other parts of the house was done by Nyhagen Crew (@nyhagsgarden).
