Snêk expands its collaboration with Plockhugget, marking a major step forward in Snêk’s commitment to sustainability. Starting October 1, 2024, Snêk will deliver all its kitchens and interiors with certification for wood sourced from selective, forest-friendly logging.
Kitchens and interiors from Snêk are produced using an innovative digital platform that offers endless possibilities for design and customization. Nothing is prefabricated—everything is made to the customer’s unique measurements and design. Customers also influence the price by deciding how much they want to do themselves. Deliveries range from raw, flat-packed components to fully painted and assembled kitchens—customers choose the level of service.
Snêk’s production is based in Törefors, Sweden, and since the company’s inception, only solid wood from Norrland has been used. With the Plockhugget collaboration, Snêk takes another significant step toward a more sustainable future. Plockhugget works to promote diverse and sustainable forestry. Snêk now provides all products with a certificate confirming that the wood comes from forests managed to support biodiversity and minimize carbon emissions, in line with EU guidelines for sustainable forestry.

Currently, clear-cutting is used in about 97% of Swedish managed forests, while selective, forest-friendly logging accounts for only around 3%. Since the 1950s, clear-cutting has transformed biologically rich forests into spruce and pine plantations with relatively low biodiversity.
The certification system from Plockhugget works similarly to choosing green electricity. When customers purchase a Snêk kitchen, Plockhugget issues a certificate corresponding to the volume of wood in the product, guaranteeing that the same volume of wood has been harvested from selectively managed forests according to Plockhugget’s forestry standard. This ensures that customers’ choices support the long-term stability of forest ecosystems with high biodiversity, while also receiving products of the highest quality.
