Our cabinet frames, backs, shelves, drawers, and door profiles are all made from solid 20mm finger-jointed pine.<\/p>

Drawer bottoms are made from 7mm pine plywood, and door panels from 5mm pine plywood.<\/p>

All parts of our kitchen cabinets are made of wood, a living material that changes with humidity. It is therefore important to treat the wood with oil to protect it from dirt and moisture, increase its dimensional stability, and prevent excessive warping or twisting.<\/p>

We recommend applying a generous coat of Linseed Oil Primer before assembly.<\/p>

Apply plenty of oil and let it sit for about 12 hours to allow the wood to absorb as much oil as possible.<\/p>

Then work in any excess oil with a cloth following the wood grain, and wipe dry with a lint-free cloth.<\/p>

Preferably use a light-colored cloth to avoid transferring color. Never use cleaning agents containing abrasives, alcohol, thinner, ammonia, or other scratching particles.<\/p>

Cabinets, doors, and drawers should be immediately wiped dry with a cloth after exposure to water spills.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Our kitchens primed with oil are treated with Selders Linseed Oil Primer. The interior cabinet parts generally do not require additional oiling, but it\u2019s a good idea to check them once a year and oil if needed.<\/p>

If there is a risk of exposure to moisture, we recommend oiling them at least once a year.<\/p>

Parts particularly exposed include cabinet sections near microwaves, ovens, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, kettles, coffee machines, and other appliances that emit heat and\/or moisture.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

  • Use common household cleaning agents.<\/li>
  • Do not use products that can scratch or dissolve the surface. Avoid solvents, scouring powders, steel wool, etc.<\/li>
  • Moisten the surface from bottom to top, but clean from top to bottom to avoid streaks. Wipe dry afterward!<\/li><\/ul>

    Any damage to the wood should be immediately oiled or touched up to prevent moisture and dirt from penetrating.<\/p>

    If the surface is damaged, you can always sand the wood\u2014one of the great advantages of a wooden kitchen!<\/p>

    After sanding, the wood must always be re-treated from the base. If a damage occurs, you can use a water-based wood paint in the same NCS code and gloss level as your original kitchen.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Our solid wood countertops are made from carefully selected pine or oak.<\/p>

    You can choose to receive the countertop untreated or primed with oil upon delivery, depending on how much of the initial treatment you want to handle yourself.<\/p>

      During the first month, you should oil the countertop as needed until it is fully saturated.<\/p>

      After that, we recommend repeating the treatment as necessary.<\/p>

      Water and spills should always be wiped up immediately to prevent the wood from swelling, cracking, or discoloring.<\/p>

      If you choose to have your countertop primed with oil by us, the first step of the treatment is already done. This means the wood has received initial protection against moisture and dirt. However, for the oil protection to be long-lasting, the countertop must be fully treated after installation before use.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      Here\u2019s how to do it:<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      1. Apply a thin layer of oil to all visible surfaces and edges.<\/li>
      2. Allow the oil to fully absorb into the countertop, then wipe away any excess oil that the wood has not absorbed.<\/li>
      3. Let the countertop rest for at least 8 hours before it comes into contact with water or is put into use.<\/li><\/ol>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
